• Hosted kick-off cookout for members, area engineers and MATHCOUNTS teachers
• Held meeting for members and spouses with new Lufkin ISD superintendent, who spoke on his plans for the city’s schools
• Sponsored joint meeting with local ASCE branch, featuring a speaker from Johnson Space Center who described the challenges of working with the MIR space station
• Supported the local cancer society "bike-a-thon," providing a "sag wagon," tools and technical assistance for bikers
