This is an event in which engineers obligate themselves to serving the public through their engineering talents and education.  The Order serves to encourage a spirit of pride in the engineering profession and to present to others a visible symbol identifying engineers.

Participation in the ceremony is limited to currently licensed professional engineers, graduates of ABET engineering schools and those who are within one year of graduation from an ABET school. 

The Order is unusual as there are no dues to pay or meetings to attend, (there is an initial one time cost of $20 to defray certificate and ring costs), no committees to join or offices to hold.  The pact is with the individuals, to themselves and their profession.  This event provides an excellent opportunity to join.  Please use the form below to register for this ceremony.

This presentation focuses on "The importance of the subgrade for pavement performance” and how over-looking the subgrade can lead to premature failure of the pavement structure above. In addition, the presentation will focus on the process for "Lime stabilization of expansive soils” (application, design, testing and construction procedures). The presentation will outline the keys to pavement performance by discussing the importance of selecting a design based on expectations, proper material selection, the utilization of good construction practices and lime stabilization. Additional topics to be discussed will include how wheel loads transmit stresses and strains through the pavement structure and how the pavement structure responds for both stabilized and non-stabilized subgrades.

Buses will be available to take participants to the event.

This includes the Texas Instrument Engineering and Innovation Hall where you can experience what it’s like to build a better building, use digital electronics to create music and sound effects, and program robots to race through a maze, pick up objects or go head to head with other robots.  The Perot Museum inspires through science, math and technology to help make the next generation of engineers, mathematicians and scientists.
