TSPE CONFERENCE

Occurring in June each year, the TSPE Conference is a great place to get all your continuing education credits in once place while networking with like-minded individuals across all disciplines in Texas.  For more information, please visit our conference page

PE LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

Available to TSPE Members, the PE Leadership Institute is unique to TSPE and provides selected participants the opportunity to develop key leadership skills in a small group environment.  During ten days of instruction, over a five session period, the future leaders of the profession are exposed to concepts focused on personal development, management, communication, team work, and client relationships.  The program culminates with the development of a 100-day personal development plan.  Please visit our PE Leadership Institute page for more information.

PELI ALUMNI SESSION

Past graduates of the PE Leadership Institute are invited back annually for continued personal and professional development during a one day alumni session which takes place each year.  Past sessions have included topics such as Building Successful Teams and Workplace Communication. Stay tuned for more information about our next PELI Alumni Session.

TSPE EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND RESOURCES

TSPE’s Education Programs and Resources position the Society squarely between the need of the engineering profession for a skilled workforce, and the need of the education system for organized community involvement. Our efforts began in 1967 when a group of forward-thinking TSPE members came together to form the Texas Engineering Foundation.

TEF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Texas’ children receive the best science and math education possible. And since our inception, TSPE’s programs have been publicly praised for their effective content and exemplary volunteer support.

Our mission and our message are the same – literacy is empowerment. TSPE is committed to helping resolve the crisis in math and science literacy in our state. On our pages you will find a wealth of information for young engineers-to-be, teachers and parents. We’ve provided information and links about careers in engineering, materials for use in classrooms and after-school programs, scholarship information and applications, challenging math and science competitions, and other interesting sites.

MATHCOUNTS

MATHCOUNTS is a nationwide program that promotes math excellence for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students and combines the efforts of the education, business, government and the technological communities. For more than 30 years MATHCOUNTS has provided enriching, extracurricular opportunities to students and free, high-quality resources to educators. Every child is unique, but we believe all children are capable of seeing the beauty and joy of math, whether they come to us already passionate about math, or intimidated by it. The Texas Competition program is run by TSPE members and staff with the support of our Texas Engineering Foundation.

MATHCOUNTS does this through two programs: the MATHCOUNTS Competition Series and the National Math Club.
