TSPE is committed to helping resolve the crisis in math and science literacy in our state. This page contains educational STEM resources for both teachers/parents and students looking to build and strengthen their skills. These resources include materials about careers in engineering, materials for use in classrooms and after-school programs, challenging math and science competitions, STEM communities and games, and other interesting sites.

MATHCOUNTS

MATHCOUNTS is a nationwide program that promotes math excellence for grades 6th - 8th with a focus on problem-solving skills and building confidence in students who both love and fear math.



DiscoverE

DiscoverE is a coalition providing every student with a shared STEM experience and the resources, programs, and connections to improve the understanding of engineering through a united voice and a global distribution network.


STEM RESOURCES FOR EDUCATORS


TryEngineering for Teachers

TryEngineering offers resources for teachers on all levels for teaching engineering to students, including lesson plans, activities, and featured engineers.



National Council of Teachers of Mathematics

The world's largest mathematics education organization, with free classroom resources updated monthly.



STEM•E

STEM•E has educational articles and resources related to STEM, and offers the Youth Career Development Program for K-12 and beyond.



The Exploratorium

The Exploratorium's page for teachers, students, and science enthusiasts contains activities, videos, exhibits, and articles across a variety of STEM-related subjects.


TeachEngineering

TeachEngineering is a free, online collection of K-12 STEM resources that uses engineering as a vehicle to integrate science, technology, and math in K-12 classrooms.



Science Buddies for Teachers

Science Buddies has a compilation of resources including the Teacher's Guide to Science Projects, printable handouts, grading rubrics, and more.



Math Learning Center

The Math Learning Center offers resources and curriculum to mathematics educators, including free resources such as math apps, at-home math activities for Pre-K-5, and lessons and publications for up to grade 12.

TryEngineering for Students

TryEngineering has resources for students who are interested in and inspired by engineering. Explore free games and activities, and read about different engineering fields.



Girlstart

Girlstart offers free STEM educational resources such as hands-on activities and engineering design challenges, STEM Educator Guides, and more.



Math Circles

Math Circles are a form of education enrichment and outreach that bring mathematicians and mathematical scientists into direct contact with pre-college students.



Coolmath

A gallery of online math activities and games for all levels, and on a number of math subjects. Includes calculators, convertors, and math lessons.



Science Buddies for Kids

Science Buddies has a collection of fun, hands-on STEM-related activities for students. Explore their favorite experiments, engineering challenge, and demonstrations.



Funbrain

Fun and educational games, books, and videos across a variety of subjects for K-8 students. The Math Zone" features games geared towards advancing math skills.



Math is Fun

Free resources and activities for students to learn about data, geometry, algebra, calculus, physics, and other math-related subjects.

"Science Bob" Pflugfelder created this website with fun science experiments, videos, research help, ideas for your next science fair, experiment blogs, and more.



Code.org

A free online resource for teaching students how to code from K-12 and beyond. Students can take the full courses or check out their "Hour of Code" tutorial activities.



Science Kids

The online home of science & technology for children around the world. Learn more with their fun science experiments, cool facts, free games, activities, lesson plans, quizzes, videos, photos and science fair project ideas



Scratch

Scratch is a coding language and online community where you can create your own interactive stories, games, and animations. Scratch is a project of the Scratch Foundation in collaboration with the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab.
