Clint Kidd, P.E.

2022-2023 TSPE Permian Basin Chapter President
Business Development Manager, DNow

Why are you involved in TSPE?

I got involved 12 years ago after I first received my license with the local chapter and learned how to get my PDH credits. I went through each stage of volunteering, with the first being the chair of the Membership Committee, to then being Vice President, to then being chapter president, to then State Director, to Region I Vice President. I took a step back in 2018-2021 to focus on my family and children.

I most recently got back involved in the chapter as President this year to try and get the Permian Chapter back on track. Our membership has declined the past few years and I just think that I know what works for this chapter to get membership headed in the right direction and to get more quality seminars to provide the value that our TSPE members and local PEs deserve. I really just feel like I can make a difference and bring value to the TSPE organization.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Other than obviously marrying my wife, Keysha, and the birth of our 2 daughters, Keely (19) and Jemma (12), I am most proud of becoming a professional engineer. It was something that I did not have to do. In the oil & gas industry, there is not a high percentage of PEs. I did it to prove to myself I could pass it. I waited 10 years from my college graduation, so it was a huge sacrifice from my family. I dedicated 13 weeks to studying for the Fundamentals Exam and then another 13 weeks the next year for the PE Exam, all while working full time and having a 6 year old child. I was and still am very proud to have become a professional engineer.
